First introduced to the public in 1965 at the Salon di Torino, this car was immediately acclaimed a very good machine and put into production. In 1966 at the Paris Motor Show it was introduced as the production model. The production ended in 1973 and since then a used Maserati Mexico is one of the most sought after models from a famous Italian manufacturer. A used Maserati Mexico is available only as a 2 door and 4 seats coupe equipped with a very powerful 4.7 litre V8 engine with four twin-choke carburettors. This huge plant produces 294 horsepower and is able to accelerate the car from 0 to 60 mph (0 - 100 km/h) in about 7 seconds, and its maximum speed is 156 mph (250 km/h). There is also a version with smaller and weaker engine (4.2 litre V8), and its performance is accordingly worse. A used Maserati Mexico as a standard was equipped with electric windows, air conditioning, leather seats and wooden dashboard. Optionally it could also have the power steering, radio and automatic transmission (originally there was only a five speed manual one). Because a used Maserati Mexico is a rather light machine (1450 kg = 3,200 lbs) and it can go very fast, it was equipped on all wheels with servo assisted ventilated disc brakes, which greatly improved safety.
